Join us at 8pm on Saturday 24 January 2026 for an unmissable experience - a sunset walk on the airport runway.

Walk the Runway is back! A rare opportunity to see Nelson Airport from a whole new perspective, capture stunning photos, create lasting memories and enjoy an unforgettable evening with family and friends

The event returns as a fundraiser supporting the entry of Nelson Airport Emergency Service team members in the 2026 Firefighter Sky Tower Challenge, with all proceeds going to Leukaemia and Blood Cancer NZ. Entry is by donation.

Ride in style to Walk the Runway!

Book your seat on the double-decker Summer Beach Bus to ride to the event in style! 

The Summer Beach Bus will pick up pre-booked passengers from central Nelson, Rocks Road and the Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park and drop them off at Nelson Airport for the popular charity runway walk. The return trip will drop you back at the same locations.
