From November 2024 to late 2025, we rebuilt the airport apron to ensure a safer, higher-quality experience for everyone. The new design streamlined terminal access for all airlines and the next phase will extend the covered walkway for added comfort. With the apron nearing the end of its life, this replacement was vital to safeguard both current and future airport operations.
A redesigned stand arrangement means passengers can look forward to a more convenient and consistent experience boarding and disembarking, regardless of which airline they choose. We're also extending the covered walkway from the terminal toward the south to provide shelter and comfort for everyone accessing the southern stands.
The apron was rebuilt in six stages, and included climate resilience improvements through an upgrade of ageing stormwater infrastructure.
